FIGHT AGAINST VIOLENCE
PLAY WITH SERENITY
Festival violence in LARP, or in general, has absolutely no place on events, or elsewhere.
The facts observed in society in recent years and initiatives to raise awareness of these offenses or crimes focus the attention of event organizers on these subjects and the Kandorya Organization is fully in line with this desire to prevent inappropriate behavior, crimes or misdemeanors, that no playful or festive atmosphere can lessen the seriousness.
Several actions and centers of reflection are set up and each year, the Organization works to improve the systems or to consider other actions which allow each and everyone to fully experience the event in complete serenity.
Initiatives and Working Groups
EMOTIONAL SECURITY
- Established in 2021, this workshop / working group was born from the desire of the Kandorya Organization to set up
tools, processesand supports to feed reflection and work onraising awareness around the issues of
Emotional Security.
- This working group brings together several volunteer Organizers to get even more involved and is led by Florian, an Organizer whose sensitivity to these issues is particularly present through his profession in psychological support.
- This Workshop will meet regularly to submit proposals, and ensure their implementation, axes that will work to try to improve the Emotional Security of each and everyone.
"SAFETY" Meetings
- Since the beginning of the KANDORYA Event (2011) the Organizers have been discussing the various aspects of Security during
large preparatory meetings (in May)or Debriefing(in September) but also during numerous meetings
remotely throughout the year
- In 2018 it is decided to create the first dedicated "Security" meeting open to all the Organizers, but also to the Participants in order to share ideas, open up possibilities and strengthen the debate and the implementation of new security tools
- It is during this first open meeting that the Organization discusses and collaborates with the "Initiatives" Collective for the first implementation of the "Safes Zones" that they carry as a project and set up with voluntary participants
- Several advances are put in place and included in the rules of the game such as the "Safe Word" or the ban on using "rape" as a plot spring
- Before the end of 2021, the Organization wishes to set up a new open "SECURITY" meeting in order to continue to make progress on these subjects with the organizers, volunteers, partners but also any participant who would like to enroll in this process

PUBLIC INJURANCE
- Kandorya wants to be a place of freedom where everyone can enjoy the game, in complete safety
- It will never be tolerated that the atmosphere of play, summer festivities or that the good-natured atmosphere becomes
an excuse for criminal offenses or even bad behavior
- The penalty for public insult is 1 year in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros
- It can be further aggravated when it is sexist, racist or homophobic
- Violence often begins with verbal abuse and everyone must take responsibility by creating a climate of benevolence and respect for the other participants.
HARASSMENT /
VICTIM OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE?
- Kandorya wants to be a place of freedom where everyone can enjoy the game, in complete safety
- It will never be tolerated that the atmosphere of play, summer festivities or that the good-natured atmosphere becomes an excuse for criminal offenses or even bad behavior
- If a serious infraction were noted by the organization, the exclusion of the event would be immediately pronounced. The Organization would support each victim and accompany them in the event of a complaint or legal proceedings
- Without a serious offense being committed, bad behavior can be sanctioned in the same way because it is not tolerable that they have their place on this kind of events
- The Organization has already excluded, on rare occasions, people whose behavior on the field was not at all acceptable, even if it did not constitute an offense or a crime
- The Organization accompanies any report of criminal offense on the ground and is there to facilitate your steps, if you wish.
- Contact with the Organization is essential, otherwise it will be very difficult to intervene
- In fact, do not hesitate to contact the Organization for any steps of this type, filing of complaints or others. The Organization will accompany you as well as possible and will be at the disposal of the competent authorities as it has always done since the creation of the event.
- It would not be possible, on the other hand, to ask the Organization to replace the role of the Gendarmerie or the Justice
- The Organization will be at your disposal and will be able to accompany you in your steps for any infringement which took place on the event
- For any offense outside the event, the Organization encourages you to file a complaint and contact the competent authorities. However, you can contact the Organization for any advice on the steps to be taken.

- For any complaint concerning facts that took place on the event, the Organization will exclude from the event
the assailant noted,the time that a court decision is rendered
- For any complaint concerning facts that took place outside the event, the Organization will exclude from the event any person found guilty of aggression by court order.
